Hilary Nelson Jacobs spent much of her career as a strategic planner for non-profits and other businesses. In midlife, she changed gears and turned to writing creative nonfiction, embracing the reality that life confounds our careful planning. Hilary is currently at work on a memoir about the gray area of consent. She has been published in The Rumpus, The Write Launch, and Role Reboot.
Hilary grew up in Washington, D.C. She received a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University and an M.F.A from Antioch University. Her favorite place to write is in Markham Cottage at the Dorland Mountain Arts residency program.
She and her husband Bob, a screenwriter, live in the Atwater Village neighborhood of Los Angeles.
